The Community Park Elementary School TerraCycle Project
As of September 14th, 2011
CP has collected - 31,108 pieces of trash
CP has earned $622.16 for our gardens
Welcome! ¡Bienvenidos!
Here at Community Park we collect trash that is not traditionally recycled and separate them into bins that we have set up throughout our school. We box up this trash and send it to TerraCycle. In turn, TerraCycle pays us $0.02 for each piece of trash. 100% of the money that we earn goes into an account that funds our school’s gardens. The idea that is central to this process is that students can take something bad, trash, and with a bit of effort turn it into something very, very good.
Here is a list of what we collect:
Juice pouches - collection bin located in the CP cafeteria Chip bags - collection bin located in the CP cafeteria Ziploc bags - collection bin located in the CP cafeteria
Old pens, dried up markers and broken mechanical pencils - collection bin located in the CP lobby Empty glue bottles and empty glue sticks - collection bin located in the CP lobby
Old toothbrushes and toothpaste tubes - collection bin located in the CP lobby Beauty Brigade - ANY size, shape, brand of any beauty product/bottle imaginable under the sun. Examples:
Shampoo bottles, lip stick tubes, deodorant cases, hand cream bottles etc. The ONLY things NOT accepted in
this category are razors.
What we need you to do:
1. Save any of the above items.
2. Drop them off at CP.
